The winery’s vision is to follow nature in every phase of production in order to maintain the integrity of the terroir and the indigenous Lambrusco grapes (Salamino and Grasparossa varieties). Due to this philosophy of minimal intervention, Lusvardi is able to offer unique wines that express innate characteristics; best described as lively, fresh and elegant. The first time I tasted their wines I was quite impressed. Every wine has a memorable taste that offers  a truly unique experience.

With the help of enologist Federico Giotto, Lusvardi proposes four lovely wines perfect for creating special moments.

Lusvardi Wine: Nature's Gift

Lusvardi Brut: A sparkling red wine fermented using the Charmat method. Obtained by 100% Lambrusco hand-picked organic grapes. This striking bright ruby red wine offers a persistent perlage with refined aromas of cherries and raspberries.

Mrs. Italicana’s suggested food pairing: open this wine together with these Parmesan Crisps and Lollipops. It’s the perfect appetizer.

Lusvardi Brut Rosé: A sparking rosè wine using the Charmat method. Obtained by 100% Lambrusco hand-picked organic grapes. This treasure of a wine features a brilliant crystal rose color with intense notes of ripe berries mingled with wisteria.

Mrs. Italicana’s suggested food pairing: this elegant sparkling wine is perfect with sole. One romantic dinner for two coming up.

Lusvardi Grato: A light sparking red wine obtained by 100% Lambrusco hand-picked organic grapes. This wine follows a traditional fermentation in red followed by a second vinification in the bottle without disgorgment.  Since the lees remain in the bottle you can enjoy this wine either limid—by pouring the wine into a decanter—or cloudy—by slightly shaking the bottle to mix the wine with the lees.

Mrs. Italicana’s suggested food pairing: try it with these delicious borlotti beans.  This food and wine combo is perfect for large crowds.

Senzafondo: A light sparking red wine obtained by 100% Lambrusco hand-picked organic grapes. An impressive ruby red wine with nuances of violet. Fresh and lively, this wine has a great equilibrium between acidity, sugars and tannins.

Mrs. Italicana’s suggested food pairing: pop this light sparking wine open with a warming Calamari Stew.  A great Autumn meal.
